Electric Picnic will feature drug testing tents once again this year. It will be operated by the HSE and Gardai.
The facilities have been used successfully in previous years to help identify dangerous batches of drugs and inform festival-goers about potential risks.
Located in the Main Arena, the tents offer a safe way for attendees to have their substances tested.
This initiative aims to enhance safety by alerting festival-goers to any harmful drugs circulating at the event.
Despite the availability of these testing services, Garda Superintendent Eamonn Curley said this does not change the festival’s stance on drug use.
Attendees are reminded that possession and use of illegal drugs are prohibited, and the testing service is intended solely to improve safety, not to condone drug use or possession.
